Workshop Arrangements

Crossroads staff will be in contact with you regarding:
Standard Workshop Schedule

Day 1 - 6:00pm-9:00pm

Day 2 - 8:30am-6:00pm

Day 3 - 8:30am-5:00pm

Lunches are scheduled from 12-1pm

Room Set-up

Room should accommodate up to 45 persons comfortably.  Adequate wall space is necessary, preferably with 4 walls free of wall hangings and windows.  See description of Wall of History.

For the first evening of the event the participants will gather in chairs placed in a circle, but for each day after that they will sit at tables in small groups of no more than six.  Please provide assistance if furniture needs to be moved.  A breakout room is needed for one hour in the afternoon on the second day.

On the first day of training, please have assistance and materials available three hours before the training is scheduled to begin.

Housing

Trainers require single accommodations.  Please serve accommodations in a location as close to the workshop site as possible.

Supplies
  1. Easel with flip chart pads- 27X34" (2 pads)
  2. Paper on a roll (white) 30-36" wide, 120-240 ft. for Wall of History
  3. Masking tape (3/4" or 1" wide)
  4. Blue painter's tape-for Wall of History
  5. Markers-one per participant.  Use an assortment of dark colored markers.
  6. List of attendees for trainers
  7. Name tags
  8. Extra pens/pencils
  9. 1 pair of scissors
Audio/Visual Equipment

A VCR and monitor or video projector and screen.  It is important to have a monitor or screen large enough for viewing by all participants.  Check with schools or large churches you have affiliations with for video projection.  Rentals are also available.

Wall of History

The Wall of History is a group activity that begins on the first evening of the training and continues throughout the event.  Butcher paper is hung on the walls and participants are asked to help build a wall of history by writing names of people, places, and events.  Four periods of history are depicted.  if you have a roll that is at least 30 inches wide then you must have 120 feet of paper on the roll; if less than 30 inches wide, please provide 240 feet of paper.  The trainers will be responsible for setting up the wall of history.  See Supplies list above.

Manual

One inch 3-ring binders -- one for each participant and all trainers.  Clear plastic cover is optional.  Must use section dividers numbered 1-4 for a workshop, 1-5 for team formation training.  Detailed instructions on how to complete the manual will be included with the original copy that will be mailed to you.  PLEASE USE DIVIDERS AND THREE HOLE PUNCH PAPER AS INDICATED.
